Give Your Time, Your Talents and Your Heart
Hospice is a unique medical specialty dedicated to the support and care of persons with limited life expectancies. Hospice care focuses on comfort, quality of life, and pain management. Hospice care can take place in a variety of settings. It is designed to surround the patient and the family with the physical, emotional and spiritual resources needed to make the most of every moment. With its dedicated team of interdisciplinary health care professionals, spiritual liaisons, and volunteers, Kindred at Home provides compassionate and expert palliative care. At the center of our care is the conviction that every individual has the right to die pain-free, with dignity and respect, and that our families will receive the necessary support to allow us to do so.
A Rewarding Experience
Volunteers are an integral part of the hospice philosophy. Hospice volunteers are there to hold a hand, listen, read, write a letter, run errands and or even help out in our office. Volunteers are there to step in when a family member needs a break, and are there for the family and friends after their loved ones have passed away. No matter what your skills are, talents or motivation, we have a rewarding opportunity for you to help. While the subject of death and dying can be understandably overwhelming, death is essential to life. Help us provide a ‘circle of hope’ for individuals who are entering their final stages of their journeys. Your services are deeply appreciated, and always welcome.
